"Think NOT that I am come to destroy THE LAW [Torah], or the prophets: I am NOT come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, ONE JOT OR ONE TITTLE SHALL IN NO WISE PASS FROM THE LAW, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break ONE OF THESE LEAST COMMANDMENTS, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven..."
Some claim (like straitisthegate.net) that ONLY the Ten Commandments are binding today, while the rest of Torah (feast days, dietary laws, etc.) have been "done away with."
THIS DIRECTLY CONTRADICTS YAHUSHA'S OWN WORDS!
"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and NOT TO LEAVE THE OTHER UNDONE."
Yahusha said keep BOTH the "weightier" AND the "lesser" matters of Torah!
"And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than ONE TITTLE of the law to fail."
Has heaven and earth passed away? NO! Then NOT ONE TITTLE has failed!
This includes EVERY command - dietary laws, feast days, agricultural laws, ALL OF IT!
Torah Command | New Testament Observance | Scripture Proof |
---|---|---|
Feast Days | Paul rushed to keep Pentecost | Acts 20:16 |
Dietary Laws | Peter never ate unclean | Acts 10:14 |
Nazarite Vow | Paul took the vow | Acts 18:18 |
Temple Service | Paul purified himself | Acts 21:26 |
Passover | Yahusha commanded observance | Luke 22:19 |
Sabbaths (plural) | Observed weekly AND annual | Colossians 2:16 |
"They that sanctify themselves... eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith YAHUAH."
If dietary laws were abolished, why is Yahuah judging people for eating pork at His return?!
"And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations... shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, YAHUAH of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles."
If feast days are abolished, why are they mandatory in the Millennium?!
"Do we then make void the law through faith? YAHUAH FORBID: yea, we ESTABLISH the law."
"Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good."
"But this I confess unto thee... so worship I the Elohim of my fathers, believing ALL things which are written in the law and in the prophets"
They falsely divide Torah into:
SCRIPTURE NEVER MAKES THIS DIVISION!
The word "ceremonial law" appears ZERO TIMES in Scripture!
Sacrifices are not "abolished" but FULFILLED in Yahusha:
The sacrificial system pointed to Yahusha. Now that He has come, we don't need animal blood - but the principles behind the sacrifices (holiness, separation, dedication) ALL REMAIN!
"Whosoever therefore shall break one of these LEAST commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called THE LEAST in the kingdom of heaven"
If there are "LEAST" commandments, that means there are commandments BEYOND the Ten Commandments!
"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."
You can't pick and choose which commands to keep!
"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law."
Sin = Breaking Torah. ALL of Torah, not just Ten Commandments!
"Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth FOR EVER."
"For ever, O YAHUAH, thy word is settled in heaven."
"All his commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever."
"But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith YAHUAH, I will put my LAW in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts"
The New Covenant puts Torah IN our hearts, not in the trash!
"I will put my LAWS into their mind, and write them in their hearts"
Notice: LAWS (plural) - not just Ten Commandments!
"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of YAHUAH, AND the faith of Yahusha."
"And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of YAHUAH, and have the testimony of Yahusha the Messiah."
Yahusha said "NOT ONE JOT OR TITTLE" would pass from the Torah!
Those who teach only Ten Commandments apply are saying:
